Westward Ho!, Devon
A popular family resort, named after a novel (which explains the exclamation mark). Situated on a sheltered bay the low tide sandy beach is easily accessible and stretches over two miles. Backing straight onto the beach is the Northam Burrows country park which is also the home of the the North Devon golf club.
As well as the usual array of seaside cafes and amusements you'll find many local attractions, gardens and not far away the atlantic village factory outlet shopping.
