Things to do in and around Broadstairs
This fascinating small museum is partly housed in a flint tower adjacent to the Broadstairs Railway Station. Thomas Russel Crampton is perhaps chiefly remembered as a designer of locomotives and of railways and the museum contains various models, graphics and working drawings connected with the railways in the area. Also on display are some items relating to the Thanet Electric Tramways.
Lillyputt is a family run, 12 hole mini golf centre. Fun for all the family, or just sit back and relax in the tea-rooms while the kids amuse themselves.
Once the home of Miss Strong, on whom Charles Dickens based much of the David Copperfield character, Miss Betsey Trotwood, This lovely old house is now a fascinating museum. Amongst the exhibits celebrating Dickens association with Broadstairs is the parlour, carefully restored from Dickens' own notes and illustrations of the time.
The Bandstand at Broadstairs provides free entertainment on Sunday afternoons in the summer months and occasional special events at other times of the year.
