Beer Quarry Caves

The famous Beer stone, prized by stone masons and used in prestigious buildings including the Tower of London and Windsor Castle has been quarried by hand since Roman times. Take the tour underground and imagine carving great blocks of stone out of the face with just hand tools and the light of a candle. Open during the summer months private tours are available out of season by prior arrangement.
